Who we are
GMP Music and Reserve Music are the two production music libraries published by Gene Michael Productions, Inc. — a Michigan-based catalog owner and producer that has built and licensed music continuously since 1989.
Where the catalog has lived
Selected credits.
From national network commercials to independent documentary, prestige scripted to podcast theme work, the GMP catalog has been placed across the formats. The networks, studios, brands, and titles below are a sample of where that music has landed.
What we do
A Production Music Library.
- 01
Flexible licensing.
Three license types in one catalog: Buy-Out (pay once for unlimited use within a single user / single company), Web Lease subscription, and Production Blanket. Every license includes both master and publishing rights at source, with broadcast performance routed through BMI and ASCAP.
- 02
Suitable for every format.
GMP Music and Reserve Music are used in television, film, radio, corporate video, web sites, podcasts, and anywhere production music shows up. The catalog is built for professional work across every market in which the format exists.
- 03
1,700+ volumes, 60,000 tracks.
The catalog has grown to over seventeen hundred volume titles spanning nearly every musical genre — cinematic, orchestral, rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, ambient, electronic, classical, folk, and dozens of moods and sub-genres. New material ships continuously.
- 04
About 300 new volumes a year.
Current production cadence has GMP releasing about three hundred new volume titles annually. The release line is staff-composed and curated — every title is mixed, mastered, and metadata-checked before it ships.
Delivery & musical formatting
Files arrive the way editors expect them.
- Direct download.
- All licensed files are available for direct download from the platform. Files are metadata-encoded for editorial workflows and ship in MP3, WAV, and AIF formats.
- Theme + alt-mix conventions.
- Most volumes contain a full-length theme version — the fullest arrangement, suitable as a foreground cue — and an alternate mix ("alt mix") with the lead instrument removed or attenuated to sit cleanly under voiceover and dialogue.
- Broadcast lengths, pre-edited.
- Theme and alt-mix versions are typically delivered with pre-edited :60, :30, :15, and tag lengths so editors can drop a cleared cut into a spot without an additional edit pass. Both versions are usually supplied to maximize editorial flexibility.
About Gene Michael Productions
A production music library, since 1989.
GMP Music is the principal imprint of Gene Michael Productions, Inc., a Michigan-based production music library founded in 1989. Together with sister imprint Reserve Music, GMP operates a single catalog of cleared, broadcast-ready production music — used in television, film, advertising, documentary, corporate video, podcasts, and creator content.
The catalog has been built by staff composers and trusted outside collaborators. As of the most recent count, the library spans over seventeen hundred volume titles and approximately sixty thousand individual tracks across nearly every musical genre. New volumes ship at a cadence of about three hundred titles per year, with every release mixed, mastered, and metadata-checked before it lands in the catalog.
Flexible licensing built for the way modern work actually clears.
GMP offers three license types in one catalog: Buy-Out — pay once for unlimited use within a single user or single company (not shared across departments or divisions); Web Lease — an annual subscription for online and small-business use; and Production Blanket — site-wide annual licensing for high-volume producers. Every license includes both master and publishing rights at the source, with broadcast performance routed through BMI and ASCAP. The result is a single point of clearance for licensees and a consistent legal posture across every track in the catalog.
Delivery and formatting designed for working editors.
All licensed audio is delivered as direct download from the platform, with files metadata-encoded for editorial workflows and supplied in MP3, WAV, and AIF formats. Most volumes contain a full-length theme version — the fullest arrangement, suitable as a foreground cue — alongside an alternate mix with the lead instrument attenuated for use under voiceover and dialogue. Both versions are typically supplied with pre-edited broadcast lengths (:60, :30, :15, and tag) so editors can drop a cleared edit into a spot without an additional edit pass. The catalog is, in short, music with a purpose — on purpose.
